Estepona · Costa del Sol

The New Golden Mile, an oasis of tranquility by the sea

Between Estepona and Marbella lies a coast where nobody's in a hurry. The boulevard starts at your doorstep, the beach is right next to you, and Puerto Banús is just a fifteen-minute drive away.

In the area

Quiet by the sea, yet close to everything

The New Golden Mile is the green, peaceful stretch of coast between Estepona and Marbella. No crowds, no high-rise buildings at the waterfront: just endless beaches, a boulevard along the sea, golf courses and the best markets on the Costa del Sol.

From the apartment, you step straight out onto the boulevard. Head left to the beach, or take a fifteen-minute walk to the beach restaurant La Sal. Continue walking and you'll reach Sabinillas and eventually the marina of Puerto de la Duquesa. If you want more hustle and bustle, the old town center of Estepona and Puerto Banús are both just a short drive away.

Our favorites after 15 years

What you do here

Beaches where you can still find a spot, restaurants where we eat ourselves, markets that fill the weekends. A selection of the tips you'll find in our personal guide after your booking.

The beaches

El Saladillo, El Padrón and Guadalmansa are just around the corner. For snorkeling, head to the crystal-clear Playa del Cristo or Bahía Dorada.

Food and drink

Thirty restaurants on our list, from beach restaurant La Sal to the beach clubs Tikitano and Sublim. And fresh bread in the morning at Honoré, Art Bakery or Salduba.

The markets

The Wednesday market, the Sunday market at the marina and in summer the evening market on the Paseo Marítimo — in our opinion the best night of the week.

Selwo Aventura

The wildlife park nearby is the day out with children: animals in large outdoor enclosures, spaciously laid out, easy to combine with an afternoon at the pool.

Golf

La Resina and Los Flamingos are both within easy reach. Outside the high season, you play here with a sea view and without waiting times.

The boulevard

The path along the sea literally begins at your front door. Morning walk, a jog or just stroll to the beach restaurant.

Day trips worth the drive

If you stay two weeks, there's time for more than beach and swimming pool. These are the day trips we most often give our guests.

Ronda

The famous mountain town inland, built on the edge of a ravine. The classic day trip from this coast.

Gibraltar

The rock you can see on the horizon from the terrace, you can just visit. A day in British territory, apes included.

The old center of Estepona

Narrow streets full of flower boxes, little squares with terraces and shops. Most beautiful at the end of the afternoon.

Sailing from Duquesa

At the marina of Puerto de la Duquesa you rent a boat and see the coast from the other side.
